Following are some of the comments we have received  about AutoHoot

"Firstly, thankyou very much for getting the Autohoot to me (aka Creeksea S.C.) in time for the Easter weekend at short notice.
I can't tell you much it has transformed our starting procedure. As kindly promised, the 15-10-5-0 sequence was preprogrammed by yourself & worked " straight from the box". As I mentioned, we installed it in tandem with our "automatic" light system & it worked perfectly. This is very important to us as we set the system off, then all of us take to the water leaving the system unmanned to do its stuff then shut down."
Paul Neve, Race Officer, Creeksea Sailing Club

"It's wonderful! We rely on the AutoHoot to be the one totally undistracted member of the Race team. At first acquaintance, one senses a little reservation from both the less experienced (concerned by the technology?) and the most experienced race managers ("I've managed perfectly well in the past"!) but after just one race they are all very happy with its operation and welcome the freedom to concentrate on other matters. It is like an extra Race Officer in the team."
Nick Colbourne, Race Officer - Chichester YC

"Quite brilliant - 11 races each for 5 fleets, a total of 55 starts over two days, without loosing the plot was possible with AutoHoot. My Flag Man twitched into life as the last thirty seconds was counted down and the Line Lady knew when to sharpen her pencil. All I had to do was pour the gin."
Richard Kingsnorth, Bewl Valley Sailing Club

"The club has been delighted with their Autohoot. It is simple to explain to Officers of the Day and reliable. We work it from a small car battery which is charged once a year. Having used it on a 10,5,0 sequence since we acquired it I have recently easily changed it to run on the 5,4,1,0 sequence."

I took the AutoHoot to Portland Harbour and it performed faultlessly for the Joint Services Windsurfing Championships. I found it so relaxing not to have to constantly check the watch during the start sequence (aware that mistakes mean postponements) that made it so much easier to concentrate on the line, the fleet and the flags.

"We in Cove sailing Club have found the AutoHoot race starter controller excellent in starting our club races and Regattas for both Dinghies and Cruisers. As we would normally start 4 to 6 races in succession the sequence of starting for each race is automatically counted down by the AutoHoot controller this allows the Officer of the Day to concentrate on the flags, sound signal and the competing boats. We would recommend it to other clubs to use the AutoHoot race starter controller in conjunction with their method of sound signals for starting races."
Brian Curtis, Commodore, Cove Sailing Club

"I have used the AutoHoot for two important Regattas in the Solent and it is now an important part of my Race Officers Kit. The AutoHoot takes away all the timing sequence worries, giving advanced warning of 90,60 and 30 seconds to the flag. It allows us to start several fleets with the minimum of helpers, leaving the Race Officer free to manage early starters and the flags."
